On-Device AI Assistant
Whisper exists because private thought should remain private.
Whisper is a private AI assistant designed to run entirely on user hardware, without cloud inference or external data sharing. It demonstrates how AI systems can deliver useful, responsive intelligence while maintaining strict control over where inference runs, what data is accessed, and what information is retained.
Whisper is built using the same principles we apply to enterprise deployments: locality, bounded behaviour, and minimal dependency.

Why Whisper Exists
Whisper was built around a simple premise: interactions with AI are an extension of thought, and thought should not be treated as data exhaust.
Solving that problem for individuals required local inference, small models, and explicit boundaries — the same constraints that now define Ava Technologies' enterprise work.
Useful AI does not require centralised inference. Privacy and performance are not mutually exclusive. Small, efficient models can outperform larger systems when designed for specific tasks.
The lessons learned from building Whisper directly inform our work with organisations deploying AI under strict constraints.
Relationship to Ava Technologies' Capabilities
Whisper is not positioned as an enterprise product. Instead, it serves as a reference implementation of on-device AI, a testing ground for local inference techniques, and evidence of end-to-end product execution.
Our enterprise work applies these same techniques within customer-controlled environments.
Future Products
Ava Technologies may introduce additional products over time where they serve a clear architectural or research purpose.
Any such products will follow the same principles: local-first execution, explicit inference boundaries, no hidden data extraction, and long-term governability.
